How can I find a car I previously owned?

I had a classic car in high school, but had to sell it to make some money for college. I got a great job out of school and now have the money to afford it. How do I find it to try and buy it back?

Few things carry as much sentimental value as a car! The easiest way to find your car is if you have the vehicle identification number somewhere.
Multiple useful websites can help you find the car through a quick search if you have the VIN. If not, don’t worry.
You could also try to find the VIN at the DMV. Your driver’s license number or the car’s license plate number may be enough information for the DMV to track it down.
If that doesn’t work, unfortunately, you’re down to word of mouth either by contacting the buyer directly or reaching out to friends and family who can help you figure out who owns it now.
