How can I check the tire pressure on my 2012 Honda Civic?

I know that my Civic has a tire pressure monitoring system, but I don’t like to be completely dependent on technology. This is kind of embarrassing to ask, but how do you check the tire pressure on a 2012 Honda Civic?

There’s no need to be embarrassed—good on you for seeking new knowledge!
You can manually check the tire pressure on a 2012 Honda Civic with a tire pressure gauge. There are a few kinds of these to choose from, but the good news is that none of them are terribly expensive. They’re also a great tool to have in your emergency car kit.
To get the job done, just remove the valve stem caps (don’t lose them!) and press the gauge onto the valve stem. You might hear a hiss of air—this is normal. The gauge should then give you a reading of the tire’s current psi (pounds per square inch). Check the sticker on your driver’s side door for the recommended psi, and then you’ll know where you stand!
