How can I check my car insurance claim history?

What is the easiest way to check my car insurance claim history? I am shopping for new car insurance, and an accident I don't remember keeps popping up. I'd like to see what is going on.

You can order a free copy of your
CLUE report
to double check your claims history.
All insurance companies pull prior insurance and claim information from CLUE (Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange) reports—but sometimes there are mistakes!
If you suspect there’s an error, here’s what you need to do:
  • Step 1: Call LexisNexis at 866-312-8076 to request a free copy of your report.
  • Step 2:
    Locate the incident
    and confirm that it’s incorrect.
  • Step 3: Contact your car insurance company to report the problem.
  • Step 4: Ask for an updated claims history letter which will update your CLUE report.
Keep in mind: Corrections to your CLUE report can take up to 30 days.
Your new claims history letter will have a record of every claim you’ve filed. This letter is also an official document that can help you get quotes from other providers, when you’re ready to
shop around
