How can I change the car remote battery on a Honda?

I have a 2017 Honda Accord EX, and it’s been great! But over the last few days, the remote has been acting funny. I’m pretty sure I just need to replace the battery. How do I change the key fob battery on a Honda?

Key batteries usually last about three to four years, so yours is probably at the end of its useful life. To replace the car remote battery on a
Honda
, follow these simple instructions:
  • Look for a tab on the back of the key fob where the Honda logo is located.
  • Push or pull the tab, which should free the spare key.
  • Use the key to pry apart the key fob.
  • On one side of the key fob, you should see a battery.
  • Use a pen tip to pry the battery out, taking care not to break any of the plastic tabs holding it in place.
  • Pop in a new CR2032 battery, which you can find at a general store or pharmacy for around $2.
  • Repeat these steps in reverse order to put the key fob back together, then test it!
Replacing the battery only takes a few minutes. In the same amount of time, you can also save hundreds of dollars a year on your car insurance by using the
