How can I add a car to my Progressive car insurance policy?

My wife and I used to share a vehicle, but we had to purchase a second vehicle since her company recently moved offices. So I was wondering how we could add her new car to our Progressive car insurance policy?

Answer
There are two ways to add a car to your current Progressive car insurance policy. The first way is to give them a call at 1-866-749-7436 and someone will assist you in making the policy change. The second way is to log into your Progressive account online or in the app and add the vehicle yourself. Changes made to your policy by phone or online should take effect immediately.
No matter the method used, you will likely be asked to provide the following information and may be required to send in proof:
  • Vehicle Identification Number
  • Primary driver
  • Primary usage of the vehicle
  • Condition of the vehicle
  • Annual mileage of the vehicle
Keep in mind, adding a vehicle to your car insurance policy will increase the cost so it may be a good time to shop around to ensure you are getting the best rate. Consider using a comparison and shopping tool like Jerry to compare quotes from up to 50+ car insurance companies, they’ll even help you cancel your previous policy. Jerry quotes are always free and they will even requote your policy every renewal to ensure you always have the best price. The average Jerry driver saves $879 a year on car insurance!
