How big is the Mazda 5 gas tank?

I feel like my Mazda 5 is using more gas than it used to. When I fill up (and the tank is nearly empty) I’m putting in nearly 15 gallons of gas. Is that really how big the gas tank is, or do I have a leak somewhere?

The
Mazda 5
has a 15.85-gallon gas tank. It usually gets around 21 miles to the gallon in the city and 28 miles per gallon highway, so you should be driving around 330 miles at least before filling up.
If you think you have a leak in your gas tank, here are some things to watch for:
  • Strong gasoline smell in or around your vehicle
  • Moisture spots under the vehicle
  • Gas gauge drops without reason (like dropping after sitting all night)
If you do have a leak in your gas tank and it needs to be replaced, the repair bill can add up quickly.
Your
insurance
company might cover the bill depending on how the leak started, but if you have a less-than-stellar insurance policy, you might be out of luck.
