How big is a standard two-car garage?

My husband and I are building our first home.We need to figure out which kind of garage would best suit our needs. We only have two cars, but we also want extra space in the garage. What are the measurements for a normal two-car garage?

Building a new house can be a fun experience—even if it is a little stressful. As a general rule, two-car garages are about 18 feet wide by 20 feet deep. So the standard two-car garage is 360 square feet.
When you consider cars are usually about 6 feet wide and 15 feet long, you’re still left with a lot of room! Of course, the space you have left will largely depend on the garage layout, doors, and whether you plan on parking both cars in the garage. Luckily, you can make it your own since you’re building your home!
Since you have two cars and are building a home, ask your provider about
bundling your home and auto insurance
. While it’s not right for everyone, bundling can help you save hundreds on your monthly insurance premiums.
