Have there been Jeep Cherokee Sport recalls?

I want to sell my old Jeep to a buddy, but he wants to know if there were ever any recalls on it. I don’t think so, but I’m not sure. Have there been Jeep Cherokee Sport recalls?

The answer depends on your Jeep Cherokee Sport’s model year.
Jeep
has been making its iconic Cherokee since 1974. Over its many years of production, the sport utility vehicle has been recalled 31 times—you can see why it’s important to know the model year of your vehicle!
The best way to find out if there’s a recall on your Jeep Cherokee Sport is to
check using your car’s VIN
. The VIN is the vehicle identification number that’s unique to your Jeep. You can usually find it on the driver’s side door jamb or the dashboard.
Then, head to Safercar.gov and enter the VIN. This site, associated with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, shows recalls for your specific vehicle and whether or not any repairs have been performed on it within the past 15 years.
If you do find out that your Jeep has had a recall (or a few), show the information to your friend before you sell the car. Consider negotiating the price of the vehicle to include repair costs as needed.
And, if you do sell your Jeep, don’t forget to update your coverage information with your
car insurance
provider. There’s no reason to pay for insurance on a vehicle you no longer drive!
