Buick
. Buick began producing this full-size luxury car back in 1991. Every trim level came with a powerful V6 engine, and Buick manufactured the Park Avenue
until 2005. Over that fourteen-year span, the Park Avenue was subject to 15 recalls. To determine if your particular Park Avenue is affected,
use a VIN lookup to check for a car recall
. You’ll also need the model year of your Buick. Here’s a quick rundown of the recalls:
- 2002: Improperly installed trunk release handle can make it hard to open (44,000 cars affected)
- 2000: Faulty microprocessor prevents windshield wipers from working correctly (35,000 cars affected)
- Front-seat shoulder belts jam in the retractor, so the belts are unusable (78,000 cars affected)
- Brake fluid leakspreventing the braking systems from working correctly (8,000 cars affected)
- 1999 to 2000: Loose brake pedal nut can prevent brake pedal from releasing (1,000 cars affected)
- 1999: Improperly-built brake parts can make the car pull to one side when braking (38 cars affected)
- 1997: A faulty electronic brake control module can trigger the anti-lock brakes (157,000 cars affected)
- 1997: Improperly-installed seatbelt anchors make them ineffective (21,000 cars affected)
- 1996: Power-control module programming needs to be updated (276,000 cars affected)
