Have there been any recalls for the Pontiac Torrent?
I’m looking at buying a used mid-side crossover, and I’ve got my eye on a Pontiac Torrent. Have there been any recalls on the Torrent in the past?

The Pontiac Torrent, which was produced from 2006 through 2009, has been recalled four times, all affecting the 2007 model.
All of these issues should have been repaired by a Pontiact dealer. Since Pontiac no longer exists, you could take your Pontiac to a GM dealer to inspect it, as Pontiac was a General Motors brand.
Here are the four issues that prompted the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to recall the 2007 Pontiac Torrent:
- Fuel Pump Module May Crack, September 2012: Either the plastic supply or return port may have been cracked, leading to the possibility of a fuel leak. A fuel leak close to an ignition source could spark a fire.
- Roof Rail Airbags, November 2007: A lack of roof rail airbags, or an optional sunroof in a 2007 Torrent increased the risk of head injury in case an accident occurred.
- Seat Sensor Calibration/Airbag, August 2007: The Torrent’ airbag indicator wasn’t working properly, and could indicate the system being “off” even if a front passenger was detected. If an accident occurred and the front airbag system was off, this could lead to serious injury or death.
- Windshield Mounting, June 2007: An incorrect primer was used during manufacturing to seal the Torrent’s windshield. Instead, the windshield’s structural integrity was weakened, leading to an increased risk of injury in a crash.
