Have there been any GMC Canyon recalls?

I bought a 2022 GMC Canyon last year, and I just heard something on the news about them being a part of a recall. I’m a little freaked out and want to learn more. Where can I find more information about GMC Canyon recalls?

No need to freak out! You can look up
GMC Canyon
recalls on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) website. All you’ll need is your VIN, which can be found either on the driver’s side dashboard or the sticker on the driver’s side door jamb. Enter that number, and the site can tell you if your Canyon is affected.
The 2022 recall involves the front passenger seat not being welded on properly, which may cause it to detach in the event of a crash. If your Canyon is affected by the recall, don’t panic—and maybe don’t let anyone ride shotgun until it’s resolved. The
repairs
will be performed and paid for by the dealership at no cost to you.
For more information, you can contact GMC’s customer service line at 1-800-462-8782.
There were a few other recalls that affected some earlier years of the GMC Canyon, but if yours is a 2022 model, then it’s only potentially affected by the one mentioned. Generally speaking, the NHTSA site is a great place to turn if you’re looking for safety information on just about any vehicle. You can find crash test results, consumer complaints, and open investigations.
