Does Zipcar cover excess insurance?

What are the coverage limits for Zipcar? I want to know if I need to purchase extra insurance.

“For Zipcar, the car insurance coverage limits are typically your state minimum car insurance requirements. Zipcar also provides a damage waiver. In most situations, you’d need to pay the first $1,000 of damage. After that, Zipcar will cover the rest.
In some states, you may be able to purchase additional liability insurance. The additional coverage limit is $300,000.
If you’re worried about the coverage or paying a $1,000 deductible for damages, you can always purchase excess insurance or a primary policy such as non-owners car insurance. Non-owners car insurance extends coverage to any vehicle you drive.
If you’re interested in a non-owners policy, you can call insurance providers in your area. As non-owners insurance is nonstandard, you typically can’t request a quote online. If you’d like help, Jerry’s licensed agents would be happy to help find you a policy that best suits your needs.”
