“To find out whether your car insurance would cover U-Haul rentals, you’ll want to reach out to them directly. Based on the size of the vehicle, it may not be covered on your personal auto policy.
There might also be limitations on your
rental car insurance coverage
. An agent with your insurance company will be able to determine whether the U-Haul would be covered.If it’s not covered by your insurance and you are planning to pay with a credit card, you could also see if your credit card would cover the rental. Most credit cards offer some type of rental coverage.
You aren’t required to get U-Haul’s insurance, but if you don’t have coverage that will apply to the rented truck; it may be worth it.”
