Does Travelers insurance cover a rebuilt title?

I bought a salvaged vehicle, fixed it up, and got a rebuilt title for it. My other vehicle is currently insured through Travelers. Will they cover my rebuilt vehicle as well?

Getting a rebuilt title for your vehicle is a labor of love. Unfortunately,
Travelers insurance
does not cover a
rebuilt title
, even if it passed an inspection.
When a vehicle sustains such severe damage that the insurance company deems it as a total loss it’s given a
salvage title
. This is also commonly referred to as a branded title. These cars are typically bound for the scrap yard, but they come pretty cheap if buyers want to put in the work to restore them.
Once a salved vehicle has been properly rebuilt and can pass a state inspection it will be given a rebuilt title deeming it street-legal to drive. The trad-off is vehicles that once held a salvage title have a significantly lower value—even if they’ve been rebuilt and inspected.
For this reason, Travelers will not sell
car insurance
for a vehicle with a rebuilt title. If you’re determined to get a rebuilt vehicle back on the road, you’ll need to look to another insurance provider for coverage.
