Does the Mazda RX-8 have good fuel efficiency?

I’m trying to figure out whether I should buy a Mazda RX-9 and the selling point is probably going to be whether or not it gets good mileage. Does the Mazda RX-8 have good fuel efficiency?

That’s a good question to ask! When compared to other sports cars of the early 2000s, the fuel efficiency of a
Mazda RX-8
is painfully average, if not slightly below average—the 2011 model gets up to 16 MPG in the city and 23 MPG on the highway, making for a somewhat underwhelming average of 19.5 miles per gallon.
But if you opt for an even older model of the Mazda RX-8, be prepared for even worse fuel efficiency—the earliest 2003 model only got a combined average of 16.5 MPG, which is almost 10 miles lower than the MPG average of today’s vehicles.
Ultimately, there are quite a few reasonably-priced sports cars with much better fuel efficiency than the Mazda RX-8—so if fuel economy is your main selling point, it might be best to keep looking.
As gas prices continue to rise, reducing one’s vehicle-related expenses has become increasingly difficult—fortunately, licensed
