If you’re selling your car, the Lincoln warranty will transfer to a new over if it’s still covered under the original new vehicle warranty. The same goes for the extended warranty plans—they’re 100% transferable. Remember to tell your buyer about which plan they have:
- PremiumCARE: Covers over 1,000 parts in total, including all technology systems and routine maintenance. Lasts for eight years or 150,000 miles.
- ExtraCARE: Covers 113 parts, including specific technology components. The rear suspension isn’t covered. Lasts for three years or 60,000 miles to eight years or 150,000 miles.
- BaseCARE: BasicCARE covers 84 parts—the steering system is the only system with full coverage. Systems like the electrical, brakes, and transmission are only partially covered. Lasts for three years or 60,000 miles to eight years or 150,000 miles.
- PowertrainCARE: The lowest extended warranty plan covers only the basics—engine, transmission, and drive systems. It can reduce repair costs on a high-mileage vehicle but doesn’t cover much else. Lasts for eight years or 150,000 miles.
