Does the length of electric car chargers reduce output?
I own an EV and do most of my charging at home. Sometimes I can't fit my car in the driveway, so I bought a much longer cord so that I can charge from the street. Does the length of the electric car charger reduce output?

That’s a smart solution to a unique problem. However, the longer the cable, the slower the charge, so an electric car charger’s length reduces output.
There are many benefits to having a long tethered cable like:
- More convenience: with options to park further away from the charging point while still being able to charge your EV
- Saving on installation costs: you’ll be able to install a charging station closer to the service panel instead of closer to where your car is parked
