Does The Hartford offer motorcycle insurance?
I’ve been riding motorcycles with my partner for years, and I’ve finally decided to get one of my own. Will I be able to cover it through The Hartford where I have my car insurance?

How exciting to get your own ride! You’ll be happy to hear that The Hartford does offer both
liability coverage
and full coverage
insurance policies for motorcycles. Motorcycle policy options available from The Hartford include:
- Bodily injury liabilityto pay for injuries to other people if you cause an accident
- Property damage liabilityto pay for others’ property damage if you cause an accident
- Uninsured/underinsured motoristcoverage to pay for expenses if the at-fault driver doesn’t carry adequate coverage
- Collision coverageto pay for damages to your bike whether you’re at fault in an accident or not
- Comprehensive coverageto pay for damages caused by anything other than a collision, including theft
- Medical payments (MedPay)to help cover medical expenses associated with a covered accident
- Personal injury protection (PIP), which is required in no-fault states and helps cover medical bills plus additional expenses from an accident
- Transport trailer coverage to pay for damages to a non-motorized trailer you use with your motorcycle
Customers can choose between any one or more of the above policies when setting up their coverage. But remember, just because The Hartford offers motorcycle coverage doesn’t mean they’ll be the best option for you. Be sure to compare rates from at least a handful of providers before settling on a policy for your new bike.
