Does the GMC Envoy come with a manual transmission?

I’m looking for a full-size SUV to haul the new boat that I purchased. However, I want to get maximum control I can only get through a stick shift. Does the GMC Envoy offer a manual transmission?

Manufactured from 1998 to 2009, the
GMC Envoy
 was one of the larger SUVs ever offered by GMC. Unfortunately, the GMC Envoy was never offered with a manual transmission.
Instead of a manual transmission, both generations of the Envoy had a 4-speed 4L60-E automatic transmission. Depending on the model year, this is paired with one of three engines:
  • 4.3-liter V-6
  • 4.2-liter inline-6
  • 5.3-liter V-8
Regardless of which engine your model has, you should get between 5,100 and 6,200 pounds of towing capacity, which should be more than enough to tow even a large boat.
