Driving a stick shift is certainly more fun! The
Ford Fusion SE
was available with a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission from 2006 to 2014. Let’s look at some of the specs for a 2014 Ford Fusion SE. The mid-size sedan comes standard with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 175 horsepower. It’s also available in a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, both of which crank out 178 horsepower.
While the Fusion SE isn’t the fastest car (which you probably are okay with as the parent!), it does have a decent fuel economy. An SE with six-speed manual transmission and a 1.6-liter engine can get up to 25 mpg in the city and up to 37 mpg on the highway.
