I have my grandpa’s 2013 Ford Taurus for a couple of weeks while they’re away, and I want to connect my phone to Bluetooth to listen to music. Does this car even have Bluetooth, or do I need an AUX cable?
Although the base SE may not include Bluetooth capability, it did come standard with other desirable features like integrated blind spot mirrors and an exterior access keypad. Higher trim levels unlocked new features, but if you want Bluetooth, you’ll need to have the Ford Taurus SEL, Limited, or SHO.
If your Taurus does have Bluetooth, connecting your phone to it is relatively simple:
Navigate to your vehicle’s settings on the touchscreen infotainment display
Select the option titled “Phone,” then turn Bluetooth ON
On your phone, ensure Bluetooth is also turned ON
Return to your vehicle’s touchscreen and select “Bluetooth Devices”
Select “Add Phone”
A six-digit PIN might appear on the screen (depending on the model year)
Select the SYNC device when it appears on your phone’s Bluetooth list to initiate pairing
Confirm the PIN (if necessary)
