Right now, I’m looking around for a Subaru or a similar-sized hatchback/SUV that offers good gas mileage. Some of the other brands I’m looking at offer EV hatchbacks, too. Does Subaru make an electric car?

Solterra has recently been announced. It’s Subaru’s first all-electric car, and it offers all of the reliability and safety features that people associate with the Japanese brand. Some of the highlights of the 2023 Subaru Solterra include:

- Standard symmetrical all-wheel drive
- 126 cubic feet of passenger space
- An advanced sport mode for more off-road performance

All this adds up to an impressive, outdoor-oriented EV, something that Subaru may end up doing better than any other manufacturer. The base model will start at $37,000, but has a low estimated battery range of 220 miles.
