Does Safe Auto offer gap insurance?
I had to file an SR-22 a couple of years back, and chose Safe Auto as my provider. Since then, I’ve stuck with them, but now that I’m looking into purchasing a new vehicle I want to make sure I have all my bases covered. Does Safe Auto offer gap insurance?

While Safe Auto is a great choice for high-risk drivers needing

, it’s not the best company to purchase add-on coverages from—and you won’t find a gap insurance policy through them. Gap insurance
is a specific type of coverage for drivers of new, financed vehicles. With gap coverage, you’ll be protected from paying the difference between what your vehicle is worth (or its actual cash value) and how much you still owe on your car loan if your new vehicle is totaled soon after you purchase it. In most cases, having an SR-22 doesn’t impact your ability to finance a new car—but unfortunately, you can’t do both with Safe Auto as your insurance provider. A policy with Safe Auto will typically meet your state’s minimum insurance requirements, along with the option to add a select amount of optional coverages such as:
- Medical payments (MedPay)coverage
- Personal Injury Protection (PIP)coverage
- Accidental death benefit
- Rental reimbursementcoverage
- Roadside assistance
