Does Progressive have a reinstatement policy if my car insurance lapses?

I accidentally let my Progressive car insurance lapse last month when I hit a rough financial spot. I don't want to lose my coverage, so is there any way I could get it back? Does Progressive have a reinstatement policy?

Progressive
doesn’t have a specific reinstatement policy if your
car insurance
lapses, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to get your policy reinstated. The key thing is to move fast—even a lapse of one day can result in higher car insurance rates.
Progressive, like all insurers, is required by state law to notice before canceling your policy. Check your mail and your email for a notice that will let you know the specific date on which your policy will be canceled:
  • If the date has not passed: Call 1-800-776-4737 and speak with a representative to pay your outstanding balance and avoid having your policy canceled. You may have to pay a late fee, but, especially if this is the first time you’ve missed a payment, your overall premiums aren’t likely to be affected.
  • If the date has passed: Call the same number to speak with a representative about paying your outstanding balance and getting your policy reinstated.
