Yes! The Nissan Leaf was the first highway-capable all-electric car sold on the mass market. It remains in production today. Nissan is also set to release a brand new all-electric crossover SUV called the Nissan Ariya in 2023.
Recently the Japanese carmaker announce plans to invest $18 billion over the next five years to produce 23 new models by 2030, 15 of which will be electric.
Nissan has been in the electric car game for a while. Here is a list of Nissan electric vehicles from years past.
  • Nissan Leaf - 2011–present
  • Nissan Altra - 1998–2002
  • Nissan Hypermini - 1999–2001
  • Nissan Esflow - 2011 concept car
  • Nissan Nuvu - 2008 concept car
  • Nissan Land Glider - 2009 concept car
While electric cars are good for saving the environment, Nissan electric cars have typically been good for saving on insurance, too. The average cost of insuring a Nissan Leaf comes in at about $666 less than the annual average cost of other Nissan vehicles.
