Does my BMW check its tire pressure automatically?

Will my BMW monitor my tire pressure for me, or do I need to check it myself? If I need to check it myself, how do I do that?

Yes, your
BMW
will automatically check the tire pressure in all of your car tires. If any of your tires become too deflated, you’ll see a TPMS warning light appear on your dashboard, indicating that one of your tires needs some air.
If you’d like to verify your car’s tire pressure yourself, you can do so using a
tire pressure gauge
. Here’s how:
  1. Wait until your tires are cool, or at least 15 to 20 minutes after driving.
  2. Unscrew the valve stem cap on your first tire.
  3. Press the gauge firmly down into the valve stem.
  4. Wait for the tire pressure reading to appear on your gauge.
Your BMW tires should be at 32 PSI for most models, but it’s worth looking in your owner’s manual to find the ideal tire pressure for your vehicle. The tire’s recommended PSI is usually also listed on the tire itself and on the driver’s side doorjamb.
