Mercedes does have three electric vehicles, two of which will be available in America in 2022: the Mercedes Benz EQB SUV which is a luxury SUV that offers a refined mix of both carbon-friendly power, luxury, and performance. The other two are the Mercedes Benz EQS
and EQE sedans. Not a whole lot is currently known about these models, and official EPA range estimates have still not been released.
Here’s the low-down on what we do know so far about the **Mercedes Benz EQ SUV, **which is priced at approximately $50,000 for the base model:
Two AMG-specific electric motors that pump out 649 hp and 700 lb-ft of torque
It comes with a “Race Start” mode that increases its dual engine output to 751 hp and 752 lb-ft of torque from the standard
An advanced cooling system to handle its phenomenal performance
The Mercedes Benz EQS sedan costs around $100,000. However, the more affordable EQE sedan is estimated to be priced at around $65,000 and is meant to compete with Tesla’s Model S and X. It has some impressive stats, including:
An electric motor will offer 288 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque
A 0-60 mph time of 5.6 seconds
An available all-wheel-drive version with 400-hp
The EQE is coming mid-2022 for buyers in the U.S., so keep your eyes and ears peeled. If you aren’t a fan of Teslas, but still want an EV that combines luxury with a zero-emissions state of mind, the EQE will probably be your best choice.
