How do I check to see if my Hyundai is still under warranty?

I have a relatively new Hyundai that I’m pretty sure is still under warranty, but how do I check this to make sure?

Follow these steps to check your
Hyundai
warranty status:
  • Step 1: Locate your Hyundai’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in your car owner’s manual or on the driver-side door jamb.
  • Step 2: Call a Hyundai dealer (preferably the one from whom you bought your Hyundai).
Your Hyundai dealer will be able to look up your vehicle and tell you exactly how much warranty coverage you have left. To get an idea, consider the warranty coverage on all new Hyundais purchased since 2005:
  • 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty
  • 5-year/60,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty
  • 7-year/unlimited-mile anti-corrosion/perforation limited warranty
  • 5-year/unlimited-mile roadside assistance
  • 12-month/12,000-mile replacement parts and accessories limited warranty
  • 8-year/80,000-mile federal emission defect and performance warranty
  • 7-year/70,000-mile CA emissions control systems warranty
  • 10-year/100,000-mile hybrid/electric battery & hybrid system components warranty (if applicable)
The powertrain warranty: Hyundai has one of the most generous powertrain warranties at 10 years or 100,000 miles of coverage, whichever comes first. This warranty covers the engine, transmission, drivetrain, and other components.
The new vehicle limited warranty: Hyundai’s 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty acts like a bumper-to-bumper warranty, covering nearly every part of the car, provided the condition isn’t due to wear and tear or routine maintenance.
