“In most
homeowners policies
, a driveway will either be covered under the dwelling or other structures. This is because driveways and walkways normally attach to your home.
However, to confirm, you’ll want to look into your policy specifically. Every policy is different and can have exclusions. You’ll want to check to ensure that a driveway isn’t excluded in your policy.
If your driveway is covered, you’ll need to prove that the construction vehicle is what caused the damage. You’ll also want to reach out to the construction company. They normally carry liability insurance to cover instances like this.
If they admit liability, your insurance will likely work with them to cover the damage. You would also have the option to negotiate with the construction company directly.”
