Does homeowners insurance cover damage from burst pipes?

I had some pipes burst in my house due to a frigid few days of cold. Will my homeowners insurance cover water damage from burst pipes?

“Most insurance policies will cover you from water damage due to burst pipes in your home. This will typically cover required repairs.
However, there are instances when your insurance may not cover this damage, like if you went out of town, turned your heat off, and the pipes burst as a result of your own negligence.
Additionally, water damage is a common exclusion on homeowners policies. While you may get your pipes repaired, the replacement or repair of anything damaged by the water is up to you.
If you file a claim for the burst pipes, your rates will likely go up, just the same as they would if you filed a claim with your
