Woohoo—there’s nothing like landing a job after being unemployed for a long period. Yes, Geico does offer home insurance policies in California, but they do this by matching you with a policy underwritten by another insurance company.
Geico doesn’t write the policy themselves, but most people don’t find this to be a problem. All it means is that Geico acts as an intermediary between you and the actual companies offering the policies.
Even though Geico doesn’t issue the policy themselves, they still offer discounts for bundling your car and home insurance with them. So, if you have a Geico auto insurance policy already, you may want to stick with them.
Now, when it comes to moving to the Bay Area, you should know that standard home insurance policies do not cover damage done by earthquakes. Consider purchasing extra earthquake insurance.
