Does gap insurance cover repairs?

My vehicle was damaged in an accident. I was at fault. Will my gap insurance cover the damage?

“If your vehicle is damaged in an accident and requires repairs, your
gap insurance
would not apply.
Gap insurance only covers the difference between what you owe on your loan and the actual cash value of your vehicle after it is marked a total loss. Coverage won’t apply when a vehicle only needs repairs or maintenance.
However,
collision insurance
will cover the damage if you have it on your car insurance policy. Without it, you have to pay for repairs out of pocket.
