Does Fitbit count my steps while I'm driving?

Will my Fitbit count my steps while I’m driving? I got a really high step count last week, and I’m wondering if maybe my Fitbit picked up my driving and counted it as if I was walking instead. Is that possible?

It’s unlikely that your Fitbit has been counting your steps while you’re driving, so congratulations on the well-earned high step count! Fitbit measures your steps based on your arm movements, not
the distance you travel
. While it’s possible that moving your arm while driving will add a few extra steps to your total, it’s unlikely that it added a significant number.
To make sure that your Fitbit isn’t tracking your driving motions, perform a little experiment. Each time you get in the car, stop or pause the step recording feature. At the end of the week, compare the total to previous weeks to see if your step count has dropped dramatically.
Your Fitbit can help your body stay in shape, but you’ll need the right car insurance policy to keep your vehicle in shape. The
