Does Driving for Uber Void My Vehicle’s Warranty?
I’m debating signing up to drive for Uber or another rideshare service for some extra money. But I’ve heard that using your car for rideshare work is commercial work, and that voids your warranty. Is it true that driving for Uber can void your vehicle’s warranty?

- Do you need the extended warranty or contract? Read the terms of your own warranty first before deciding. While uncommon, your warranty may not specifically prohibit commercial vehicle use (look for the word taxi in your warranty).
- Are you planning to use your personal vehicle for rideshare? If you’re using your personal vehicle for rideshare work, then you likely will need a tailored warranty or service contract. But if you have a car specifically for rideshare use, it may not be worth the extra money.
