Does driving for Lyft void a warranty?

I bought a new car about three years ago. I want to pay it off early so I can build my credit to buy a house. To earn some extra cash, I was thinking about driving for Lyft. My only problem is that I still have two years left on my warranty, and I don’t want to mess that up. Will driving for Lyft void my car’s warranty?

Paying off your
car loan
early to get ready to buy a house is a financially savvy move! But you were also smart to think about your car warranty. Unfortunately, driving for Lyft can void a warranty due to the language and fine print in the warranty itself.
When you purchase a car for personal use, companies are legally required to offer some sort of warranty. However, the fine print of these warranties dictates what you can use the car for. In most cases, commercial use of a personal vehicle voids the warranty. And because driving for Lyft falls under commercial use, you’re effectively voiding your warranty.
Because driving for Lyft may void your warranty, you may want to weigh the pros and cons. At the very least, you can set up a maintenance fund using the savings you get by shopping for car insurance on the
