Does driving fast wear out tires?

For me, nothing beats the thrill of putting the pedal to the floor and enjoying a quick burst of acceleration. However, I was watching NASCAR the other day, and I noticed chunks of rubber flying everywhere on the track. This made me think about my own driving. Will driving fast wear out my car’s tires more quickly?

NASCAR drivers definitely experience some wear and tear on their tires at speeds of over 200 mph. But even in your own car, driving fast wears out tires due to excessive heat and friction. This doesn’t necessarily mean that your tires will fail; it simply means that the life of your tires will decrease.
On average, tires last about 50,000 or 60,000 miles, so long as you don’t get a
flat tire
and you rotate your tires regularly. But this can drop if you continue to drive at hectic paces. Slow down if possible, or at least curb your appetite for quick acceleration.
Whether you drive fast or at a normal pace, your tires will wear out eventually one way or the other. And with an average price of between $525 and $725, replacing them isn’t cheap. So if you want to save some cash for your next set of Firestones or Goodyears, use the
