Does Direct Auto sell gap insurance?
I’m buying a new vehicle soon and want to get my gap insurance somewhere other than the dealership this time. I’d like to stay with my current insurance if I can. Does Direct Auto sell gap insurance?

Getting gap insurance from an auto insurance provider usually ends up being cheaper than it would be at a dealership. However, Direct Auto does not sell gap insurance.
While it’s an option, you don’t have to switch car insurance providers to find gap insurance if your current one doesn’t, as many providers offer standalone gap insurance policies.
Here are some examples of popular insurance providers that do sell gap insurance:
While it’s not always mandatory, gap insurance, short for “guaranteed auto protection,” can be a lifesaver if you have an upside-down car loan—and some car loans and leases do require it. If your car is totaled in an accident or stolen, gap insurance can cover the difference between your loan or lease balance and the car’s actual cash value (ACV).
If you’re looking to save on gap insurance, it’s worth seeking quotes from multiple providers to increase your odds of finding the best deal.
