Does defensive driving dismiss a ticket in Texas?
I received a speeding ticket outside of Austin for going 12 mph over the speed limit. While I was bummed about the ticket, I read on a blog that I might be eligible to take a defensive driving course. Will a defensive driving class dismiss a ticket in Texas?

- Not have taken a defensive driving course in the last 12 months
- Not currently be taking a defensive driving course for a different offense
- Not have been speeding more than 25 mph over the speed limit
Based on what you’ve said, you should be eligible to take defensive driving and have your ticket dismissed.
