Interestingly, Costco was one of the first big retailers to offer electric car charging stations before 2006. According to The New York Times, Costco had installed 90 chargers in 64 stores by then. Most of those chargers were in California, while some were in Arizona, New York, and Georgia.
Then in 2011, Costco said it would remove electric car chargers due to lack of use.
