Does an expired driver's license invalidate insurance?
I was in an accident a few days ago where I wasn’t at fault, but I’m perfectly fine and only sustained minor damage to my car. My only issue is that the officer on the scene told me that my license was expired. He didn’t give me a ticket; he just told me to get a new one. Is my insurance invalid because of an expired license?

An expired driver’s license should not invalidate insurance.However, this is entirely dependent on the car insurance company (if you file a claim) and how thorough of an investigation they conduct. In some cases, the other motorists’ car insurance company may try to diminish your claims by saying that you shouldn’t have been driving on an expired license.
You may need to hire an attorney if the other motorists’ insurer tries to fight you on the claim. But if you can prove you didn’t willingly drive on an expired license and the other driver was largely responsible for the accident, you shouldn’t have any issues.
