Does additional insured mean an additional driver?

I'm adding my boyfriend to my insurance. Is he an additional insured?

Answer
Additional insureds on an insurance policy are people or companies with partial ownership of your vehicle. If your boyfriend cosigned your car loan, he would be considered an additional insured.
When adding another driver to your car insurance, they would be listed as an additional driver.
If you’re just adding him as a driver on your policy, he is an additional or listed driver. He can’t change the policy or coverage levels, but he is covered by the policy.
