Does AAA insure salvage titles?
My car was in an accident a few months ago and my brother has been working on restoring it. It’s almost ready, and I want to get a jump on buying insurance. Does AAA insure salvage titles?

No, AAA does not insure salvage titles—but it does insure rebuilt titles.
AAA, like most other major insurance providers, will not insure a salvage title car. That’s because by definition a salvage title car is not safe to drive. It’s been declared a total loss by the insurance company and is no longer legally allowed on the road.
If your car is completely repaired, then your next step is to apply for a rebuilt title. You need to get the car inspected and approved by your local DMV. Prepare to show proof of all the work your brother did to restore the vehicle. Receipts, photos, and other documentation will be helpful.
Once you are issued a rebuilt title, you can start looking for an insurance policy. Be aware that you must have a AAA membership to be eligible to buy car insurance through AAA.
It’s worth noting that AAA does offer full-coverage car insurance to rebuilt title cars. Most other companies will only offer limited liability coverage.
Hope this helps!
