Does AAA cover EV charging?

"If I run out of juice, does AAA charge my EV car or tow it? I have AAA and I drive a Nissan Leaf."

Most tow providers and road service responders contracted by roadside assistance providers (like
AAA
) would not have the appropriate equipment on hand to charge an electric vehicle, so the service call would likely be treated as a tow call rather than a fuel call, except that they would tow you to the nearest charging station.
It is likely that there are exceptions and that in areas where EV’s are more prevalent, some providers may have begun to offer or may plan to offer this service.
Since charging an electric car isn’t a readily accessible service through most roadside assistance companies, consider adding
towing coverage
to your plan.”
