Does a seatbelt ticket make your insurance go up?

I got a seatbelt ticket recently and I’m not really sure what this will mean for me. It seems like a pretty minor offense, but I’m afraid it will make my insurance go up. Is this likely?

I’m sorry to hear that you got a ticket! Luckily, it’s unlikely that a seatbelt ticket will
make your insurance rates increase
significantly. If you live in a state where a seatbelt infraction is considered a moving violation, it’s possible that you’ll see an increase of up to 3% in your monthly insurance rate.
Even in states where a seatbelt infraction is considered a moving violation, the charge is considered very minor. Nonmoving violations typically don’t affect your insurance at all!
In fact, you might even be able to lower your insurance rates by finding a provider through
Jerry
. This app can help you find the best rates available on the coverage you need without any long forms or awkward phone calls. Just download the app and answer a couple of questions to see quotes customized for you.
Hope that helps!
