Does a Hyundai warranty cover the engine?

I have a Hyundai that’s four years old. Recently, I was driving and I noticed that the engine was acting strangely. I took it to the mechanic and he told me it was a manufacturer’s defect and that I should look into the warranty. I just want to make sure it’s covered. Will my Hyundai warranty cover the engine?

If the defect in your engine was the direct result of a manufacturer’s defect and not the cause of anything done by you — such as lack of maintenance — the
Hyundai
warranty should cover the engine.
This falls under the Hyundai powertrain warranty, which protects against defects in the engine, transmission, and other vital components for 10 years or 100,000 miles—whichever comes first.
You’re in luck—repairs not covered by the Hyundai warranty can get expensive. The best idea is to set some money aside now to pay for potential uncovered repairs. A great place to start is by shopping around for car insurance savings with
