Does a DUI stay on your driving record?

I got a DUI while I was in Vegas and I’m worried that it’s going to follow me forever. Do DUIs show up on your record for the rest of your life?

I’m sorry to hear that you got a DUI. In the state of
Nevada
, a DUI will stay on your record for at least seven years. The charge may remain forever if anyone was injured or killed as a result of your actions or if you have two or more previous DUI charges.
After seven years have passed, you can file for the the conviction to be sealed. While the charge will not be removed from your record completely, it will become confidential, meaning it won’t be available to landlords, potential employers, schools, etc.
A DUI charge will also usually cause your car insurance rates to increase. To make sure that you’re still getting the best deal available, check out the
