Does a DUI stay on a driving record for a long time in Colorado?

I got charged with a DUI and I’m worried that it will stay on my record for a long time. How long will a DUI charge remain on my driving record in Colorado?

We’re sorry to hear that! Unfortunately,
Colorado
mandates that a
DUI
will stay on a defendant’s driving record for 10 years, and it will stay on your criminal record indefinitely.
This is a serious offense, and Colorado treats it as such. As a result of the DUI, you'll face fines, possible jail time, and a license suspension of up to a year.
That said, if it was your first DUI charge and you were over 21 at the time of the offense, you may be eligible for a restricted license after a month, and if you meet the conditions of your restricted license, you might have your unrestricted
Colorado driver's license
reinstated after four months.
