I’m going to take a defensive driving class to get a ticket removed from my driving record. While I’m excited about keeping my driving record spotless, I was thinking that the class may also help my car insurance rates. Does taking a defensive driving course lower your insurance?

If you want to take a defensive driving course, make sure it’s approved by your insurer and you should see a drop of up to 20% on your rates over the next three years.To take a defensive driving class that’s approved, call your DMV and your insurer to find a reputable one. Most of these classes are online, cost between $20 and $100, and take around four to eight hours to complete.
