Do you wear socks with driving loafers?
My uncle got me driving loafers for my birthday because he knows how much I love to drive my Audi. That said, I’ve never owned a pair of driving loafers. Should I wear socks with them or do I go without socks?

! However, the debate rages. Some say you always wear socks with driving loafers, while others say you never wear socks. Since it’s is subjective, you have to weigh fashion vs. feel.From a fashion perspective, you only wear socks with driving loafers if you are wearing long pants and your socks aren’t visible. If you’re wearing shorts, **putting on short (invisible) socks is the only fashionably sensible thing to do.
However, driving purists that wear loafers often say that proper loafers don’t require socks. To this effect, you’re supposed to feel the pedals with your bare feet. Plus, the plush and comfortable interior of the shoes is supposed to be comfortable even without socks.
Ultimately, the decision is up to you. Try both ways, weigh your fashion vs. feel, and you’ll come to the right decision for your needs and tastes.
