Do you need to buy insurance from the rental car company if I already have my own policy for a Dodge Durango?

"I have my own car insurance for my Durango and carry full coverage. I always buy the rental car company's insurance as well, but I'm wondering if it's worth it.

They always sell me on the loss of use since they say it's not covered by my credit card or personal insurance. "

“Depending on the type of car insurance you have, it may be beneficial for you to get the
rental car insurance coverage
through the rental agency. However, if you have a good personal auto policy and credit card benefits, it may not be necessary.
Many credit card companies and personal auto policies do cover loss of use, but they may not cover it fully. Based on what’s in your terms and conditions, you could still end up paying out of pocket for any costs, damages, or injuries.
If you’re concerned about having to pay out of pocket, you should reach out to your car insurance company and credit card company. They’ll be able to provide you with information on what they do and don’t cover for rental cars.
From there, you can decide whether you should spend the extra money on the rental car company’s insurance.
